and growth. She deeply admires the courage it takes to enter therapy and to share sometimes difficult or painful aspects of one’s experience.

Dr. Goldstein has several years of experience working with adults, adolescents, and children in outpatient clinics, college counseling, and community-based hospital settings. At River City, she works with adults and older adolescents facing a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, adjustment issues, loneliness and isolation, self-esteem, identity concerns, parenting challenges, social difficulties, discrimination, sexual orientation and gender concerns, sexual problems, trauma, body image and eating issues, and intrusive thoughts and urges. She believes that parents play a crucial role in their children’s life at all ages, and that including parents in parts of the therapy process of adolescents is essential to long-lasting therapeutic change. Dr. Goldstein has clinical and research expertise in parent-child relationships, disordered eating, and identity development in adolescents and young adults. She is LGBTQ-affirming and strives to understand how each person’s background—including race, religion, and other identities—have shaped and molded their experience and personality (and continue to do so).

Originally from the Mid-Atlantic, Dr. Goldstein is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Michigan and has been providing psychotherapy since 2014. She received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Eastern Michigan University in 2020, completed her predoctoral psychology internship at Cambridge Health Alliance/Harvard Medical School, and completed her postdoctoral fellowship at Arbor Psychology Group in Ann Arbor. She is always looking to learn more and better ways to think about, understand, and help ourselves and one another and regularly participates in supplementary educational and training programs. She is currently completing a two-year advanced training program through the Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute-Society, of which she is a member.
