Un ustin (él/ellos/ella) quería ser un superhéroe mientras crecía, cuando se dieron cuenta de que estaba fuera de la mesa, ser terapeuta era la siguiente mejor opción que pensaron para poder ayudar a otros a encontrar sus propios superpoderes. Trabajando con un enfoque principalmente relacional y usando todo, desde cómics hasta juegos de mesa para ayudar a los clientes en su viaje de 10,000 pasos. Austin trabaja principalmente con adolescentes y adultos emergentes, pero tiene experiencia viendo todas las edades.

They also utilize tools from CBT, DBT, Polyvagal Theory, and Narrative Therapy. Finn has found these methods most effective when working with clients through traumatic experiences and PTSD, along with issues around sexuality and gender identity. 

 

From their work in community mental health and youth residential mental health, Finn has extensive experience supporting older teen and young adult clients through the difficult transition into adulthood. Finn works with people who are struggling with Complex Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Anxiety, Depression, Suicidal Ideation, Domestic Violence, families that struggle with LGBTQIA+ acceptance, and aspects of Neurodiversity. Additionally, Finn has provided education and training within mental health and higher education settings about transgender inclusivity and the specific challenges associated with being LGBTQIA+.

 

Finn completed his Associate of Arts from Grand Rapids Community College (2015), and both his Bachelor of Arts in Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies, Psychology and LGBTQ Studies (2018) and his Masters of Social Work from Grand Valley State University (2023). Finn has served on the Board of Directors for the GR Trans Foundation since 2018.
